Synthesis and self-assembly behavior of POSS-embedded hyperbranched polymers.
Here we demonstrate a simple and straightforward approach to prepare POSS-embedded hyperbranched (HB-POSS) polymers with customized molecular weights and sizes just by controlling the polymerization time. The polymers can be further used for building amphiphilic polymers, presenting morphological transition from micelle to vesicle in aqueous solution.
متن کاملSelf-assembly in mixtures of amphiphilic polymers and surfactants
– We present a model for the joint self-assembly of amphiphilic polymers and small amphiphilic molecules (surfactants) in a dilute aqueous solution. The polymer is assumed to consist of a hydrophilic backbone and a large number of hydrophobic side groups. Preference of the surfactant to bind to hydrophobic microdomains along the polymer induces an effective attraction between bound surfactants....
متن کاملAromatic Hyperbranched Polymers: Synthesis and Application
Hyperbranched (hb) polymers have been receiving increasing attention because of their unique architecture that results in an interesting set of unusual chemical and physical properties. Over the past decade quite a number of excellent reviews on hb polymers have been published by different research groups, covering various aspects of this class of polymers. This review will highlight the work o...
متن کاملSynthesis and self-assembly of propeller-shaped amphiphilic molecules.
Propeller-shaped aromatic amphiphiles based on a conformationally flexible aromatic segment are shown to self-assemble into well-defined discrete nanostructures with high fluorescence characteristic.
متن کاملSynthesis and self-assembly of amphiphilic polymeric microparticles.
We report the synthesis and self-assembly of amphiphilic, nonspherical, polymeric microparticles. Wedge-shaped particles bearing segregated hydrophilic and hydrophobic sections were synthesized in a microfludic channel by polymerizing across laminar coflowing streams of hydrophilic and hydrophobic polymers using continuous flow lithography (CFL). Particle monodispersity was characterized by mea...
